Our Story
The story of Bavel Consulting starts with a burning desire to bring change to security checkpoints. Starting small, we have evolved into a prominent airport security consultancy, helping airport security checkpoints achieve optimal performance. Our progression has been fueled our drive to create tangible outcomes and our commitment to always being at the forefront of our industry.

2019 - Our Founding
Bavel Consulting was founded by Willem van Bavel in 2019. Starting out as a small operation, We launched the Checkpoint Design Guide and completed our first Security Optimization study. This success led to the growth of the company and development of our first security analysis tools. We also celebrated our first year milestone and welcomed Lily Lemi as our Operations Director.
2021 - Early Growth
Recognizing the growing demand and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the aviation industry, Bavel Consulting adapted its services and developed new tools and solutions. By 2021, the company had successfully optimized security at 15 airports and remained dedicated to educating the industry through its educational content, aimed at demystifying the complexities of security checkpoint performance.
2023 - Innovation
Expanding our consulting services and collaborating with airport clients drove our focus towards further innovation. This led to the development of the Tray and Trolley Return System (TTRS), a cost-effective security lane solution for regional airports. Our commitment to innovation solidifies our values and demonstrates that we are not just consultants offering advice, but also creators of solutions where none exist.
